HyePod: Armenian Story Time with Linda

Each episode of HyePod features a moral short story that ranges from retelling of classic international fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood to Armenian tales written by prominent Armenian writers like Hovhannes Tumanian. These stories are told in Armenian in a manner that is engaging and easy to understand. The goal of this podcast is to make the Armenian language more accessible to children across the world and use the power of storytelling to help preserve the Armenian language and values through our future generations. It is harvest season for the elderly grandparents who live on a farm with their grandchildren, dog and cat. Noticing that the big turnip he had once planted is ready for harvest, the grandfather goes to pull it out to cook it for dinner. With all his power, he tries to pull it out of the ground but is not successful. He then recruits his wife and together they try again, will they be able to pull out the turnip this time?

While working, the poor man asks his daughter to go to the well to get some water. She goes to the well and thinks...if I get married, have a son, name him Gigos, and if Gigos comes here, climbs up this tree, falls down on the stone and dies...She then begins to weep over her dead son Gigos. Every morning, an older woman milked her goat and sold it for a living. One morning, the fox passes by and as soon as she steps away, he steals the milk. The older woman catches him in the act and cuts off his tail. He asks for his tail back. She agrees to give it back if he brings back her milk, which he already drank. Will he find more milk and get his tail back?

Frustrated, he set into the forest to find God to tell him of the unfairness of his life and to ask that he grants him some luck.  On his way to find God, he encounters a wolf, a tree, a young lady and they all ask for favors from God. Will the poor man find God and get his and others' wishes granted?

A baby goat named Sevoug and her mother live in a small hut in the forest. Sevoug stays home during the day while her mother grazes and returns home at night to feed Sevoug. When she is home, she sings for Sevoug to open the door. The forest wolf notices this routine and plans to sing the same song to get Sevoug to open the door. Will the wolf succeed?

A farmer once owned some land and 2 oxen. Over a cold winter, the oxen get sick and die. With no money to buy new oxen, he decides to rent out his land to a neighbor. Not long after, whilst digging the borrowed land, the neighbor finds a pot of gold. What will the neighbor do with the pot of gold? Will he tell the farmer or keep it for himself?

An elderly bystander offers to remove it from her foot in return for keeping it. The bird free of the wood happily flies away. Towards the end of the day, she returns with regret and asks for her wood back which no longer exists...what will she do next?
